Hello I'm Sandra Colston, the owner & Chef of Root's. I was raised on the beaches of the east coast, spending summers on Ocracoke Island N.C. & Hatteras Island. My father, Ray, taught me to catch everything from fish and crabs to digging for clams with my toes! My mother, Jeannie, taught me to cook the seafood I caught and many of our dishes are mom's recipes. Seafood of any kind is hard to come by this far in the Appalachian Mountains, but I have sourced the freshest variety of Seafood available, along with local beef, pork and chicken. Give us a try you won't be disappointed!
My restaurant is available for private events: weddings, business lunches, dinners, cocktail receptions, and more. I would love to discuss how to be a part of your next event.
I refuse to compromise on quality in my restaurant. That's why I try to source fresh ingredients from local farmers' markets as the seasons allow.
